Asset management insights ■
Uniquely organized, Asset Management Insights follows the life cycle of industrial assets and infrastructures. Indeed, one of the fundamental points of the definition of asset management is its management perspective covering the entire life cycle of assets rather than specific segments such as maintenance. It reviews the thematic components of asset management both from a conceptual point of view (originality, approaches, methods, tools) and from the point of view of its practical application (conditions to be met, recurrent difficulties, and organizational constraints). Most other titles on asset management tend to describe the practice and related ISO standards in a rather clinical manner. In contrast, this work focuses on concrete situations experienced by those who have implemented the concepts, discusses how, and when and WHY they failed, and how they adapted their practices in order to succeedFeatures Packed with stories from professionals and companies that highlight aspects of different functions, tools and elements of asset management from a variety of different industries, including infrastructure (water, energy, transportation), public service (post offices, hospitals), manufacturers, public, and private companies.Guides readers to explore the essential actions to be undertaken, and the major pitfalls to avoid.Organized in parts and chapters that address individual topics of asset management according to the sequence of life cycle segments of any asset belonging to an infrastructure or industry. This allows the reader to follow asset-related questions throughout their lives or to choose to study specific life segments (chapters).

La gestion d'actifs ■
In "La Gestion d'Actifs", Celso de Azevedo delivers the key elements of industrial asset management and guides the reader in setting up effective asset management within the company. Whether experienced or not, he offers to th reader insights into the key elements of this discipline and the solutions to make optimal decisions in this area.
At no time does the author claim to hold a universal truth about how to solve all problems. Instead, he chooses to highlight his own rich experience of many industrial scenarios and infrastructures around the world. He presents concepts of solution, not in the form of requirements, but rather in the logic of the methodological tradition of a scientist. Designed around the desire to "take the reader by the hand", the book, which can be read in one go or chapter by chapter, makes it go through the various segments of the life cycle of an asset. The four parts of the book thus follow the thread of their complete life, from conception to dismantling. Experiences and stories of business professionals also highlight aspects of the different functions, tools and elements of asset management.
Technique without being ever forbidding, the author proposes in this work a true positive vision of the discipline, based on a true conceptual rigor but illustrated by the experience of the field. A book-reference! |

Guide de gestion des actifs industriels ■
During the last thirty years, especially since the globalization of the economy, the industry regularly reduces its costs to remain competitive. But it is increasingly difficult to contain the budget of one of its branches: the maintenance of industrial sites.
We try to maintain as cheap as possible, but we can not avoid the increase of certain expenses, such as the repair of machines - not to mention the shortfall due to production stoppages.
Would the reduction in maintenance costs have reached its limits? For the author of this book, an internationally renowned industrial consultant, it is in the way companies are used to managing their maintenance budgets that the limits are found. Putting itself in the place of machines, the author proposes a new and original approach to asset management : he demonstrates what benefits can be derived from the comparison of costs and risks for different aspects of industrial maintenance. Thus ensuring increased competitiveness and substantial financial results for companies. |
